Get Involved

There are many ways in which you can get involved with Homeless Child as an individual or an organization and help us in our work with the homeless children of Rio de Janeiro. You can organize your own fundraising event, donate your time or skills or make a personal donation.

Raise Funds for Homeless Child

We’ve made it easy to raise funds online - you can sign up to raise money for Homeless Child at MyCharity.ie .  Each website lets you setup your fundraising drive, personalise your page, set your goal, track your progress, and thank your sponsors.

Now for the hard part - deciding how to raise money!

• Run a marathon, climb a mountain, skydive out of a plane or bungee jump off a bridge!
• Organise an office or team fund raising event - anything from a coffee morning to a car wash.
• Hold a boot sale or book sale - even at €1 an item it really adds up!
• Host a BBQ, a tea party, or an art exhibition and sell tickets at the door.
• Solicit prizes from local businesses and host a pub quiz or bingo night or raffle.

We’re 100% ready to help with whatever fund-raising idea you have and can support you with certificates, badges, and flyers you can print out for your event. Just get in touch and we’ll be happy to help. We’ll even write about your fundraiser on our blog to share your enthusiasm and say thank you!

Make a Travel Pledge

Most tourists never encounter the poverty, violence, drugs and exploitation of Rio’s slums, or see the conditions more than 35 million impoverished families and children live in.

If every tourist donated just 1% of their Brazilian holiday expenditure to improving conditions for Brazil’s most vulnerable children, we could provide food, education, medical care and safety to all of Rio’s street kids.

Corporate Support

We welcome support from corporations and would be happy to discuss suggestions for partnerships. Any support in terms of printing, computers and donations of materials are all of invaluable help to us at Homeless Child.

Volunteer

We welcome volunteers to help in all aspects of our work, both in Ireland and on the ground in Brazil. Please contact us with the skills that you can offer to the charity.

Most importantly you can help teach others regarding the situation of the world’s street children, creating wider awareness of the problems that need to be addressed.
