Make a 1% Travel Pledge to Help Homeless Children

Tourism is a vibrant and critical part of Brazil’s economic growth - more than 5 million tourists spend nearly $6 billion USD each year on their Brazilian holidays. Most tourists never encounter the poverty, violence, drugs and exploitation of Rio’s slums, or see the conditions more than 35 million impoverished children and families live in.

If every tourist donated just 1% of their Brazilian holiday expenditure to improving conditions for Brazil’s most vulnerable children, we could provide food, education, medical care and safety to all of Rio’s street kids.

By pledging to donate 1% of your Brazilian travel costs to Homeless Child - that’s just €10 for every €1,000 or $10 for every $1,000 you spend - you can help us meet this goal.

How to Pledge

Whether you’re a frequent traveller to Brazil, are in the midst of planning a holiday, or are just dreaming about one day visiting the vibrant cities, beautiful beaches and incredible nature Brazil has to offer, making your Travel Pledge is easy. Pledging doesn’t commit you to sending any money now; it’s simply a public statement of your promise to donate 1% of your travel budget when you choose Brazil as your destination.
